I have posted about CCW Outfitters before and the superb bowhunting for whitetail bucks there but I am here to tell you the turkey hunting can not be beat! Their land is loaded with boss gobblers and getting them with a bow can be done here easier than most places you will hunt. Jason and Cassie Purvis provide you with first class accomadations, meals and friendship at their place. You have to see it to believe how good their land and leases are in western Kentucky. The Own the Zone guys were there with Paul Biggs, Al Pope, and Craig Ritter the second week of May right before season ended.
Per Jason Purvis and these pictures -
Own the Zone hunt winner Craig Ritter, scored on a nice CCW gobbler at 12:30pm today with a bow at 20 yards. All of the action was caught on film and should make the Own the Zone Show !!!!

In the past couple of months I have been at the Cleveland VA Hospital due to my paraplegia. While there I met a Occupational Therapist named Jeremy Holt who has the passion for that outdoors that allot of us are blessed with thank god. Jeremy is a true professional at his chosen career and works to help paralyzed and injured veterans get back to doing the things that they love to do. When I was talking to Jeremy I ask as always do when meeting new folks, if he hunted or fished much. Jeremy said not as much as he would like to but as much as he could living in Cleveland. He proceeded to tell me about the remarkable steelhead fishery he has there at his disposal. I ask him first if I could partake in his bounty; but he told me the terrain was to rough…. That’s ok Jeremy keep Eden to yourself man I don’t blame you! This was the fish Jeremy caught in April of 2009 and you can tell in talking to him that he loves Steelhead fishing. Congrats Jeremy on a super trout! Thanks for your help in getting my new wheelchair; it fits great and tell Steven I love it! The Ti-Lite ZRA rocks! SEMPER FI !

This buck was killed in 2008 and is unusual with the thrd main beam coming directly straight forward from the forehead. Wow what a buck!

Is this heaven? Oh my, how I would love to have these in my yard. Are they not the most magnificent animal? They could eat all the flowers I have and I would gladly plant them more. I swear I would never tire of watching them. I would try my best not to harvest one in the fall from the yard. I truly would try not to shoot one during bow season, I promise.

Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.
Even gun shop owners didn’t know about this because it is flying under the radar. To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.
Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:
If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any hunters in your family - pass this along.
This is just a “termite” approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.
This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not. If you take my gun, only the criminal will have one to use against me.
HR 45 only makes me/us less safe. After working with convicts for 26 years I know this bill, if passed, would make them happy and in less danger from their victims.

STABLEY OUTDOORS & MYOUTDOORZONE.COM will be joining forces to send care packages to our soldiers who are serving in Afghanistan. With the help of Outdoor Industry Leaders and Men & Women who share a Passion for the Outdoors, we will be sending our troops Game Calls, DVD’S, Hats, T-Shirts, Magazines and other items to help make them more comfortable & pass the time when they are not on duty.
Most of us can’t imagine the mental and physical conditions they go through. By providing these items, we hope to lift their spirits and let them know how appreciated they are. Below you will find an email I received from a soldier serving in Afghanistan. SSG Christopher Morter had requested some catalogs and thought I would go one step further and see if I could get some people together to help these soldiers out, hence “Project Afghanistan Hunt Club“.

Bart is from Alabama and has harvested several mature Alabama and Kentucky bucks already in his 10+ plus hunting seasons. At 21 he is already an accomplished deer and turkey hunter with firearms and bow. He is also a prostaff for Own the Zone TV and website www.myoutdoorzone.com . He is as good behind the camera as well as in front of it. Bart like many of us got introduced to the outdoors and hunting traditions through his family. I had the pleasure of meeting Bart’s Dad and brother at a deer camp last fall and I know why his passion for hunting runs so deep, it is in his genes. He gets it honest, as we talked for hours about the great bucks we have hunted and the ones we are going to hunt!
Bart was my camera man and filmed my hunt at CCW Outfitters in Kentucky where he guides for them some too. Sharing the blind with him on that bow nunt was awesome as we had a great time and saw lots of deer that we got on film. We talked at length about deer hunts and Bart was idolizing the fact that I had harvested several deer over 140 B/C. He wanted one more than anything and talked and talked about when and how he was going to make that happen if he ever just got the chance. So he had this planned , spend as much time in the woods as he could and hunt where there are some good bucks. He went to Illinois on Dec 6 and finally got his shot at a trophy buck. Congrats Bart!
Killed- Schuylur County Illinois, Dec 6th, thompson center muzzleloader, 149 1/8′
Evan and Blake have always tagged along with their Dad’s to the fall woods or out to the lake. But the time came this year and past deer season to where these neighbors and school friends got to be in the center of the picture. These young men pulled the trigger on thier first bucks and congrats out to you both. I know your Dad’s are proud and will always enjoy the moments they got to spend with you teaching about the sanctity of the hunt and the traditions that you hopefully will pass along to your children. Eat that venison and enjoy the fruits of your harvest! Congrats again boys!

Amanda Aldridge from Oklahoma harvests herself another nice buck this gun season in Oklahoma. This woman gets her done! She is a mother, full time student and you can not keep her out of the woods when deer season and the rut is in full swing. She also bow hunts and loves to fish. Congrats Amanda on a nice buck! Great job on doing the field dressing yourself!
