2 Albino Snow White Moose in Michigan - UP

There is something so special about witnessing an Albino animal in nature. It is always so special when it happens that I am awestruck by the beauty and the rarety of the moment. The odds of seeing one moose that is albino are huge but to witness two at the same time? Probally couldn’t get odds on that even from Vegas bookmakers.

These animals were photographed just north of the Wisconsin border on a highway near Marenisco, MI.

May these splendid animals live a long life and stay out of the road. In Indiana Albino animals are protected. I am not sure on Michigan or Wisconsin game laws but I am going to research it.

that would be awesome if one of them was a bull! I dont think i have ever seen a picture of 2 albino animals (any species) together at once.

I too hope they stay out of the road!

Moose are protected in Michigan — NO hunting season. Doesn’t matter what color they are.

Thanks Terry - Now if the poachers all know that and respect the law, those moose will be just fine.

Thanks for the picture. I saw an Albino Moose a few years back in Houghton, MI. I was by myself so anyone I have ever told laughed at me, and said there was no such thing. Now I can show them what I got to see. Thanks again.

The white moose is neither albino, nor a separate species or subspecies, they have brown eyes and brown dots on their fur. These rare moose resulted from mating between both a bull and cow carrying an altered recessive gene
