Jim Zumbo - Let go from Outdoor Life

Outdoor Life editor in chief Todd SMith released this information in a statement from Outdoor Life.

Jim Zumbo has offered to terminate his association with OutDoor Life and they accepted the offer.  That is after his comments in his Feb 16th Blog created such an issue.  Outdoor Life respected his right to Freedom of Speech; but their magazine also respects the rights and Second Amendment rights of others to own, shoot and hunt with firearms of their chose.

Outdoor Life regrets the turn of events that got set in motion to cause this to happen as Mr. Jim Zumbo has been a lifelong advocate of hunter’s and gun owner’s rights.  His last article will appear in the April issue and then he affiliation with Outdoor life will be over.

WOW.  Kind of like Woody Hayes, Bob Knight or I can think of several other’s as to when their agenda becomes bigger than the job the hold.  I respect all of those I just named and also Jim Zumbo.  You have to stand for something and take that stand when it is time.  But you also have to choose the right battles or you risk losing the whole war.  I too have been guilty of being wrong and outspoken when my belief does not set well with the majority.
