This guy gets inspired to paint while eating BBQ ribs. He is really good and you have to check this out.
This bridge is on the Old Donner Pass Highway. It has a spectacular view of Donner Lake and Donner Pass on Route 80.

A bear was walking across Rainbow Bridge ( Old Hwy 40 at Donner Summit,
Truckee) on Saturday when two cars also crossing the bridge scared
the bear into jumping over the edge of the bridge. Somehow the bear caught the
ledge and was able to pull itself to safety. Authorities decided that nothing
could be done to help Saturday night so they returned Sunday morning to find the bear sound asleep on the ledge.

After securing a net under the bridge the bear was tranquilized, fell
into the net, lowered, then woke up and walked out of the net.

This Florida man was attacked by a bobcat while taking out the trash. He saw the cat was going to jump and being familiar with them he knew he was going to be bitten and clawed. It was not going to get the best of him though and he was glad it attacked him instead of a young kid or an elderly or disabled person. It had rabies and he had to take the shots for it. Nature seems cruel at times but survival of the fittest and strongest is what makes the cycle work and only by eliminating the weak can the species remain strong. It allows more food for the strong plus eliminates the sick and weaker animals. Still it is nice to be at the top of the food chain now is it not?
The snow makes it easier for the wolf pack but harder for the moose to navigate. Alaska is up in arms over the wolf issue as they say 80% of new born moose young are killed by wolves. That large of number of deaths impacts the big game hunting; which means the almighty dollar is affected as tourism and hunting is what bring people to Alaska. It is not to see the wolves but to hunt the animals they are eliminating. It is a balance that the Wildlife Agencies must find tough to balance as the positions they hold are elected too.
The cunning and power of the wolves is awesome. What a force to reckon with and the fear that all animals must have when they hear the pack howl and commence to hunt.

The pack gets bigger

The moose is panicked and the end is near.

Hey this will be a Big Bear hunt and there is more than life and limb at stake on this one. It is the SUPER BOWL after all. These are my two favorite teams but I am from Indiana and you just have to want Peyton Manning to win the Super Bowl because he has more than earned the right to win. Either way these two teams have played well this year and both deserve to be there. Can’t wait for the Super Bowl parties and watching this game play out. Go COLTS!!
Moira McLaughlin and Daylon Johnson, both British Columbians in their 20s and working for Alberta Sustainable Resource Development, were collecting data on the mountain pine beetle in a remote area south of Grande Prairie, Alta.
“We were going down a steep slope and the bear came up behind Daylon and knocked him on top of me. He bit the back of Daylon’s leg and bit my hand when I went to cover my face,” McLaughlin told CBC News on Monday.
“I was very scared and I guess I was just surprised because he came out of nowhere and attacked [Johnson] from behind.”
Johnson said he started hitting the bear and it took off on its own.
“We were just kind of quiet and sat there and let it get a ways a way. Then we got up and went the opposite way it went.”
The surveyors radioed for help and were picked up by helicopter. They required surgery for their injuries.
The Prince George Citizen reported Monday that the pair was from Prince George, B.C.
Annette Bidniak, a spokesperson for the department, told CBC News the workers accidentally walked over the bear’s snow-covered den.
“There’s 3½ feet [just over a metre] of snow in that area, the den was built into the side of a hill and there was a fallen tree on top of it. So anyone walking over it would not have known they were walking over a bear’s den.”
Wildlife officials have closed off the area, but say no action will be taken against the bear because it was simply defending its den.

There is something so special about witnessing an Albino animal in nature. It is always so special when it happens that I am awestruck by the beauty and the rarety of the moment. The odds of seeing one moose that is albino are huge but to witness two at the same time? Probally couldn’t get odds on that even from Vegas bookmakers.
These animals were photographed just north of the Wisconsin border on a highway near Marenisco, MI.
May these splendid animals live a long life and stay out of the road. In Indiana Albino animals are protected. I am not sure on Michigan or Wisconsin game laws but I am going to research it.
November 22, 2006 Two Bucks a 10 Point & 8 Point ended up in a death struggle ( locked horns ) At some point during their fight they fell into they pond & drowned. The DNR Dept. Of Natural Resources was called and they said if they were tagged they could be kept. Only because deer hunting season is open. If deer season was not open then the DNR would come out for the racks in order to display them as there is only two exhibits known in the State of Michigan.& donate the meat to the underprivileged. They were properly tagged and are going to be mounted. What a sight and how they must have struggled before and after getting into the water.

Pogo Moose Incident - Fairbanks, Alaska “They were laying new power cables which were strung on the ground for miles. The moose are rutting right now and very agitated. He was thrashing around and got his antlers stuck in the cables. When the men (miles away) began pulling the lines up with their big equipment, the moose went up with them. They noticed excess tension in the lines and went searching for the problem. He was still alive when they lowered him. to the ground. He was a huge 60 inch bull and slightly peeved !”
With help from his 1st Sgt Joe was able to take down the largest North American Fox squirrel ever harvested. It involved a well planned stalk, a really good first shot and some hand to paw combat. Joe was only slightly injured during the melee.
The video is supposed to be awesome with some real heroe action in it.
